Vernon "Vern" Brown Allen, 84, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at his home. He was born on August 15, 1935, in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Malcolm Brown Allen and Maxie (George) Allen Jeter.
Vern was a 1954 graduate of Beech Hill High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was President of Vern Allen Tire Company since its opening in 1981.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Rob Kemp.
Vern is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca "Becky" (Collins) Allen whom he married January 12, 1957; three children, Jackie (Lori Taylor) Allen of Morristown, Rick (Ronna) Allen of Barnesville, and Missy (Chris) Kemp of Belmont; six grandchildren, Brandi (Justin) Little of Barnesville, Roxie Kemp of Hilton Head, SC, Bryce (Ashli) Allen of Barnesville, Cally Kemp of Cambridge, Blake (Carissa) Allen of Barnesville, C.J. (Kristen) Kemp of Belmont, Heather Brandon of Bethesda; seven great-grandchildren, Madyson, Kennedy, Alexis, Campbell, Carter, John, and Jacqueline; and sister, Barbara (Allen) Henson of Texas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, from 4 until the time of the masonic service at 7:45 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A private graveside service will be held at Crestview Cemetery with military honors presented by Belmont County Veterans Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vern's memory to the 3C Cancer Support Group, 236 Morgantown Avenue, Barnesville, Ohio.
