Richard E. Truax, 66, of Barnesville passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his home. Richard was born in Barnesville on February 23, 1952 to the late Clyde and Audrey (McCollum) Truax.
Richard was a 1972 graduate of Barnesville High School and a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Richard was retired from the Barnesville Water Department. He was a member of Friendship Lodge F&AM #89 and had previously served with the Barnesville Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim Truax and David Truax; and a sister, Barbara Harris.
Richard is survived by his wife, Redona (VanFossen) Truax; son, Shawn Truax of Quaker City; three grandchildren: Matthew, Alexis and Chandler Roux; sister, Jean Ann (Wayne) Cross of New Martinsville, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a Masonic Service at 6pm at Campbell-Plumly-MIlburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11am with Pastor Richard Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Cemetery in Barnesville.
