Raymond Frederick "Fred" Hedger, 74, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 8, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Raymond Porter and Frances Margaret (Burnell) Hedger.

Fred proudly served during the Vietnam War as a Marine. He was a correction officer at the Belmont Correctional Institute where he was a substance abuse counselor. He had a doctorate in theology and regularly held bible studies at Russell's Crossing where he was a resident.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Franklin Hedger.

Fred is survived by his children, Raymond F. "Fred" (Wanda) Hedger II of Bethesda and Stanley Roy Hedger of Marion; 4 step-children, Trina Ann Lively of Massillon, Michael Craig Lively of Columbus, John Kenneth Lively of Summerfield, and Shawn Phillip Lively of Parkersburg; sister, Carolyn Sue Ebert of Malaga; brother, Stanley Francis Hedger of Columbus; half brothers, Raymond Porter Hedger of Cincinnati and Charles Anthony Jones of Columbus; 9 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10 AM by Belmont County Veteran's Association at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
