Martha Lee (Castello) Sells

Martha Lee Sells, 76, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville. She was born on April 24, 1941 in Belmont County to the late Dempsey Orville and Belva Leora (Butler) Castello.

Martha attended the Barnesville School District. On June 12, 1960, she was married to her lifelong husband, Charles Lewis Sells at the East Main Street Church of Christ in Barnesville by Brother Jimmy Gallagher. Their reception was held at the Belmont Grange Hall. Charles was employed at the Lamborne Greenhouse in Alliance, Ohio. They had began dating in 1955 and during the prom of 1956, he accompanied her to the dance at Barnesville High School which is now the elementary school.

Martha had received many visits from her special man while he resided in Alliance with his grandparents and traveled to Barnesville on the weekends. They took their honeymoon at the Quality Court Motel in West Virginia. 

Their first home was 549 South Linden in Alliance until the summer of 1962. He then got a job in drop forge at Transue and Williams in Alliance, where he worked for 36 years.

Martha and Charles Sells celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2010, and they spent seven more anniversaries together. They were members of the East Main Church of Christ and the Union Avenue Church of Christ in Alliance.

Martha sold whatever she could for extra money to help the family, Avon, Beeline, etc. and remained a housewife most of her life, working at the Sells Greenhouse at one time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Joshua Daniel Wyeth in 1997; great-granddaughter, Ayla Grace Adolph in 2017; two brothers, Eddy Castello and Paul Castello; and a son, Timothy Charles Sells in 1967.

Martha is survived by her husband, Charles Sells of Barnesville; a son, Charles L. "Abe" (Kenna) Sells of Chesapeake, Virginia; five daughters, Teresa Elain (Jeff) Wyeth of Tunkhannock, PA, Tanya B. Sells of Barnesville, Tammy Michelle (John) Sroka of St. Clairsville, Trina (Rick) McFee of Zanesville, and Lori Bernice Pittman of Barnesville; six grandchildren, Chuck "Earl" (Linda) Wyeth, Betty (Katherine) Akins, Rocky Thompson, Tina (Rob) Adolph, Chase Sells, and Johnna Sroka; four great-grandchildren, Sierra, Bryce, and Bradley Wyeth and Autumn Lee Adolph; and two sisters, Maxine Mayhugh of Barnesville and Shirley (Ben) Zak of Johnstown, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio from 1 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM, with the father, son ministers Jeff Wyeth and Earl "Chuck" Wyeth, officiating, son-in-law and grandson to Martha.
