Kody Scott Detling

Kody Scott Detling, 25, of Cape Coral Florida went to be with the Lord on August 7th, 2018. He was born on January 7th, 1993 the son of Misti Detling Hollingsworth and the late Scott Stephen. Kody spent most of his younger years in Ohio growing up in Barnesville, Coshocton, Pickerington and London where he graduated from High School in 2011. Kody then moved to Cape Coral Florida to be with his Mother, Step-Father and Sister.

Kody was known for his love for life. He was outgoing, energetic and fun loving, quick to flash his ornery smile to anyone who needed a laugh. Kody loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved boating through the gulf and riding jet skis with his parents and sister, summers at Seneca Lake tubing with his cousins, watching movies and eating ice cream with his girlfriend Katherine, riding 4 wheelers, motorcycles and just being with those he loved, Kody was always there with that smile and his one of a kind laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Stephen of Barnesville, Grandfather Jerry Stephen of Tippecanoe, Nan, Pauline Wilson of Mt. Olivett, and Nanny and Pap; Kathyrn and Jerry Corkins of Barnesville.

He is survived by his parents, Misti and Rodney Hollingsworth of Cape Coral Florida, sister Tiffani Bolen of Miami, Florida, step siblings Chris Hollingsworth and Samantha Hollingsworth of Joliet, Il,and half brother Bradley Stephen of Barnesville. Grandparents, Rev. Tom and Bonnie Detling of Senecaville, Pam Stephen of Barnesville and girlfriend Katherine Ull of Cape Coral, Florida. Kody will be missed by his several aunts, uncles, and cousins whose hearts are broken by this loss.

A memorial service will be held on August 26, 2018 at 4pm at the Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Detling officiating.
