John "Hutch" Todd Hutchison

John Todd Hutchison, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away at home on Friday, September 20, 2019 surrounded by his family.  John was born in St. Clairsville on October 16, 1941 to the late Ray and Bernice (Todd) Hutchison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful granddaughter, Miranda Steed Himes; brother, Don Hutchison; nephews: Scott Hutchison, Jeff Hutchison and Daniel "Shutlz" Shuman; and brother-in-law, Sam Shuman, Sr.

Hutch is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith Hall Hutchison; wonderful daughters: Fran (Jason) Steed and Jessica "Jae" (Rick) Sykes; three grandsons: "Poppy's Boys" Carter and Peyton Steed and Noah Sykes; sister, Marlene Shuman; several nieces and nephews; and many life long friends whom he considered his family.

Hutch was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Florida.

Hutch survived a serious auto accident in December, 1957 and, after learning to walk again, graduated from Barnesville High School in 1963 and Kent State in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree in Education.  During his teaching and coaching career, he served as Barnesville High School Athletic Director, Barnesville Junior High basketball coach, and Head Varsity Football Coach for the Barnesville Shamrocks.  Hutch was a member of the Barnesville Elks Lodge and Eagles Aerie of Weeki Wachee, FL.  After retiring from teaching and coaching, Hutch enjoyed 37 years living in Hernando Beach, Florida, woodworking, fishing, boating, swimming and golfing.  He was a sports enthusiast and an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays fan, but he was always a Buckeye and a Shamrock.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 3019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and also on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 10am until the time of the service at noon with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-MIlburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey County, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, The Eternal Work Television Network (EWTN) or the Barnesville Area Education Foundation.
