Esther Louise Luyster, 92, of Barnesville passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. Esther was born on August 27, 1926 to the late Earl and Cora (Meeker) Eddy.
Esther is a lifetime member of the Fairview Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxillary Military Order Purple Heart. She was a 1944 graduate of Barnesville High School. Esther worked as a telephone operator and book keeper for Home Telephone Company of Fairview, Ohio. She loved her church, making quilts, cooking and baking, gardening and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Delores Lashley. Viola Gardner, Marlene Eddy, Richard Eddy, Kenneth Eddy and Donnie Eddy.
Esther is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Paul Luyster; daughter, Linda (Don) Mayberry of Barnesville; grandchildren: Mark (Lori) Mayberry of Cambridge and Donna (Scott) Burga of Salesville; two great-grandchildren: Chad (Kim) Burga and Eric Burga; four great-great-grandchildren: Parker, Connor, Brailey and Lane; brother-in-law, Gale (Doris) Luyster; sisters-in-law: Betty Eddy, Kay Eddy and Ellen Luyster; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11am with Ev. George Warner. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
