Charles Lewis Sells

Charles Lewis Sells, 78, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his daughter, Trina's home in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born on November 7, 1939 in Belmont, Ohio to the late Charles Truman "Abe" and Bernice Cornelia (Gallagher) Sells.

He attended schools in Barnesville, graduating in the class of 1957 from Barnesville High School. On June 12, 1960, he was married to Martha Lee (Castell) Sells, who passed away on April 18, 2018, three months prior to him. They were married by Brother Jimmy Gallagher at the East Main Street Church of Christ. Charles was employed at Lamborne Greenhouse in Alliance, Ohio. He had been dating her since 1955.

Their first home was 549 South Linden in Alliance, Ohio where they resided at various places there in the city until 1998. Charles retired from Transue and Williams as an employee in the drop forge area. He had worked there for 36 years from 1962.

Charles was a faithful member serving the East Main Street Church of Christ at Barnesville for many years until his health began to fail in the last few years of his life. His wife was there by his side in church for many years. They had also been a member of the Union Avenue Church of Christ in Alliance and the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Sebring, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lee (Castello) Sells; a son, Timothy Charles Sells in 1967; great-grandson, Joshua Daniel Wyeth in 1997; great-granddaughter, Ayla Grace Adolph in 2017; and brothers, George Earl Sells and James "Jim" Truman Sells.

Charles is survived by six children to that union, Teresa (Jeff) Wyeth of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, Tanya Sells of Barnesville, Lori Pittman of Barnesville, Tammy (John) Sroka of St. Clairsville, Trina (Rick) McFee of Zanesville, Charles "Abe" Lewis (Kenna) Sells of Chesapeake, Virginia; six grandchildren, Chuck "Earl" (Linda) Wyeth, Betty (Katherine) Akins, Rocky Thompson, Tina (Rob) Adolph, Chase Sells, and Johnna Sroka; four great-grandchildren, Sierra, Bryce, and Bradley Wyeth and Autumn Lee Adolph; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM with his grandson, Chuck Wyeth officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
