Anita J (Gallagher) Lucas

Anita J. Lucas, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born on July 22, 1933 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late George and Virga (Spencer) Gallagher, Sr.

Anita was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was mortar between the bricks that held the family together. She retired from Barnesville Hospital after 23 years of service. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.

In addition to her parents, Anita is preceded by brothers, Orville Gallagher, Lester Gallagher, George Gallagher, Jr., and Jimmy Gallagher; and 5 sisters, Bernice Smith, Anna Eschbaugh, Mildred Morrison, Hildred Main, Litha Gallagher.

Anita is survived by her husband of 66 years, Randall L. Lucas, Sr., whom she married on June 9, 1951; her children, Randa (Chuck) Hill of Wilmington, North Carolina, Diana (Mike) Hayes of Temperanceville, Randall (Sharon) Lucas, Jr. of Barnesville, Timothy (Lori) Lucas of Belmont, Robert "Buddy" (Linda) Lucas of West Monroe, Louisiana, and David (Bobbie) Lucas of Bellaire; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 10 AM until 2 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow the visitation at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.
