Velma J. McFarland, 89, of Bethesda, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. She was born on July 5, 1934 to the late Lowell and Grace (Phillips) McFarland.
Velma was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther R. (Emery) Koerber and Jessie L. (Clyde) Repik; her brother, Blaine (Ilene) McFarland; and a niece, Suellen Repik.
She is survived by her niece, Cindy Koerber Goff (Dave); and nephews, Barry Koerber, Daniel Repik, and Brett McFarland.
Velma was a trailblazer operating the Belmont County Credit Union at a time when such roles were seldom held by women. Later in her career, she excelled as an executive assistant to managers in the C-suite at Borden in Columbus. Velma also loved to travel and cherished every adventure. Upon retirement, Velma resided in Bethesda enjoying the tranquility of the country lifestyle.
Velma's legacy of strength, kindness, and adventure will be cherished by family, friends, and her beloved cat, Patches.
Honoring Velma's wishes, private services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial followed at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda. Velma's care was entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
