Jay Toohey Obituary

Jay Michael Toohey, 80, of Deland, Florida formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Villa Health & Rehabilitation in Deland, Florida. He was born on February 5, 1944, in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Joseph Martin and Virginia Mae (Carpenter) Toohey, Sr.

Jay was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for IUOE Local 18. He was a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph M. Toohey, Jr, Jerry M. Toohey, James M. Toohey, and Jan M. Toohey; and a sister, Sylvia Litz.

Jay is survived by his daughters, Christine Braido of Cambridge and Leslie White (Eric) of Port Orange, Florida; two grandsons, Casey and Kyle; and two granddaughters, Kelsey (Nick) and Lauren; and beloved dog, Willie.

In honoring Jay's wishes, there will be no services held. Jay's care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
