William "Sonny" C. Plumly

William C. "Sonny" Plumly, 87, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on August 26, 1929 in Barnesville to the late Mansel and Justina (Mason) Plumly.

Sonny was a 1947 graduate of Barnesville High School. He retired from Ohio Power as a line supervisor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville, BPOE No. 1699, Shoot a Buck, and was recipient of the 1978 Norman Vincent Peale Life Saving Award.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Annabelle (Pierce) Plumly on January 24, 2013; and sisters, Kathryn Bailey, Virginia Ramsey, and Mildred Dallas.

Sonny is survived by his two daughters, Brenda (Bill) Ault of Bellaire and Judy (Dick) Hughes of Columbus; four grandchildren, Kristin (Rob) Beckett of Bellaire, Karie Ault of St. Pete Beach, Florida, Amy (Jason) Godwin of Powell, Ohio, and Craig (Leah) Hughes of Chandler, Arizona; ten great-grandchildren, Shaye, Nick, and Madison Beckett, Shelby and Karly Glenn, Luke and Ben Godwin, and Hunter, Luci, and Layne Hughes; caregivers, Lauratta Ronevich, Sandy Delancey, Heather Delancey, and Lenora Perdue; caregiver and "third daughter", Denise Starr; and his special cat, Callie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 11 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM with Rev. Tom Detling officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Larry Conway and Scott Baker for picking up Sonny to attend Shoot A Buck and coming to the house to play cards with him.
