Ruth Elaine (Smith) Jones Householder

Ruth Elaine Jones Householder, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 11, 1937 in Guernsey County to the late Ralph G. and Mabel M. (Kirk) Smith.

Ruth was a 1955 graduate of Old Washington High School and was a nurse at Barnesville Hospital for 49 years. She was a member of the Barnesville First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Jones; and a brother, Kenneth Smith.

Ruth is survived by her second husband, Eugene "Doc" Householder; 3 children, Nanette (Richard) Hoeck of Hockessin, Delaware, Jeffrey (Karen) Jones of Millersport, Ohio and Joyce (Tom) Cook of Barnesville; 6 grandchildren, Abby (Josh) Warburg, Sharon Hoeck, Nicholas Jones, Emily Jones, Matt (Marta) Cook, Mark Cook; great-grandson, Nathan James Warburg; 2 sisters, Betty Griffin of Wheeling and Marjorie (Bill) Jinkens of Florida; a brother, Robert (Brenda) Smith of Cambridge; and sister-in-law, Shirley Smith of Old Washington.

According to Ruth's wishes, her body will be donated to the Ohio State University Department of Anatomy. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Rev. Sam Monte officiating at Barnesville First Presbyterian Church, 124 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
