Lucille (Landefeld) Wittmer

Lucille Landefeld Wittmer, 96, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Arbors at Woodsfield. She was born on January 11, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John W. and Cora Reich Landefeld.

The family moved back to Monroe County, home county of her parents, when she was one year old. Lucille was baptized in infancy and was confirmed into the St. Pauls Envangelical and Reformed Church in Woodsfield in 1934. She attended Woodsfield Schools, graduating in 1938.

On June 24, 1939, Lucille was united in marriage with Clyde Emery Wittmer of Barnesville. They lived in the Barnesville area their entire married life. Clyde passed away on April 11, 1982.

Lucille had been employed by the various garment factories in Barnesville for 18 years. She was also a bookkeeper for Clydes lumber business until he retired in 1978.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister - Martha Brown; 2 brothers - Lawrence Landefeld and Irvin Landefeld; and infant niece - Linda Frances Landefeld.

Lucille is survived by 3 nieces - Darlene (Ron) Thornberry of Somerton, Donna (Jim) Liptak of Byesville, and Sharon (Clem) Kress of Lewisville; 2 nephews - Dale Landefeld of Zanesville, and Gene (Tonda) Brown of Woodsfield.

Visitaiton will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Ohio.
