Lawrence "Ozzie" WehrOctober 27, 1935 ~ September 23, 2017 (age 81)
Lawrence V. "Ozzie" Wehr, 81, of Barnesville passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born on October 27, 1935 in Bethesda, Ohio to the late Hort and Faye (Carpenter) Wehr.
Ozzie was a member of the First Christian Church of Barnesville. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Ozzie was a retired foreman for Y&O Coal Company and after retirement was active in the Belmont Senior Services. He was a member of Friendship Lodge #89 F&AM and BPOE 1699.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Vernon Wehr, Donnie Wehr, Helma Stephens, Curtis Wehr, Jimmy Wehr, Freddy Wehr and Eva Mae Brown.
Ozzie is survived by his three daughters: Denise (Terry) Stephen of Barnesville, Brenda (Jim) Delman of St. Clairsville and Christine (Todd) Hannahs of Irwin, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Bernice Moore, Norman Wehr, Janet Stump, Velma Neuhart, Beverly Legg, Roger Wehr and Norma Lee Schweikert; former wife and mother of his children, Ruth Carpenter of Quaker City; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 2-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11am at the First Christian Church in Barnesville with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
