John Frederick Kramer

John "Jack" Frederick Kramer, 78, of Bristolville, OH passed away June 20, 2016 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was born May 21, 1938 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late John R and Violet (Cairns) Kramer. On February 14, 1963 he married the former Anita Gregor with whom he spent 53 wonderful years before his passing.

Jack spent his early years in Adena, OH, was a 1956 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and graduated from Ohio Northern University School of Pharmacy in 1960. He retired from Hillside Hospital in 1996 where he worked as the Director of Pharmacy and spent his retirement doing medical mission work with his wife in Russia and Mexico.

Jack was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, which he helped build and served as Finance Chairman for many years. He was an avid reader and car enthusiast, loved golf and spending his winters in Florida. Above all he loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Louise (Gregor) Kramer of Bristolville, OH, his daughter, Carrie (Ron) Tharp of North Canton, OH, and son, John (Betty) Kramer, Jr. of Charlotte, NC. Jack also leaves behind five grandchildren, Sarah (Joel) Clark, Rachel Tharp, Jackson Tharp, Maggie and Nicole Kramer; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Sloane, and his brother, Jim (Cleo) Kramer of Girard, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday June 24, 2016 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 1128 State St. Champion, OH 44483 where both Rev. Joan Purnell and Rev. Patricia Christ will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday June 23, 2016 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home 533 North Park Ave. Warren, OH 44481 and from 10 - 11 AM at the church prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 4 PM with Rev. Tom Detling officiating at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio. Local arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.

The family requests that material contributions be made to Otterbein Methodist Church, 1128 State St. Champion, OH 44483 in his memory.
