Jerry E. Stephen, 68, of Quaker City, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1948 in Barnesville to C. Marjorie (Creighton) Stephen of Barnesville and the late Rolland Ellsworth Stephen.
Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a 1966 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He was a Methodist by faith and worked as a Supervisor for local strip mining companies. He was a member of the Barnesville VFW Post 2792, Barnesville American Legion #168, Kirkwood Lodge #446 F&AM, and the National Pike Knife Club.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a son, Scott Stephen; and 2 brothers-in-laws, Kenneth Morris and Dick Hughes.
Along with his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Drew) Gibson of Barnesville; grandchildren, Kody Detling, Tiffani Bolen, Londyn Gibson, and Cruz Gibson; siblings, Melba "Myrt" Hughes of Senecaville, Linda Morris of Johnstown, Ohio, Dennis (Grace) Stephen of Barnesville, and Bruce (Tammy) Stephen of Calais; a special nephew, Matt Hughes; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 PM by Kirkwood Lodge #446 F&AM. Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veteran's Association at the funeral home on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10 AM with funeral service following with Pastor Eric White officiating.
