Jean Long, 90, of Barnesville passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her home. Jean was born on July 12, 1927 in Flushing, Ohio to the late Wilbur R. and Laura A. (Lynn) Whitsell.
Jean was a member of the former Mt. Olivett United Methodist Church and had been attending Bethel Church. She was retired from the Barnesville Hospital where she worked for 22 years as an LPN and was involved in a Barnesville Hospital twig. She was a 50 year member of Belmont Grange #889.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Charles R. Long on June 21, 2013; and sister, Jeanette Thompson.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jim) Kovacs of Barnesville; son, Bruce (Carla) Long of Barnesville; four grandchildren: Tim (Mollie) Kovacs of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Alison (Rich) Weidman of Bellevue, Ohio, Sarah (Chris) Jones of Barnesville and Drue Long of Barnesville; and seven great-grandchildren: Aidan and Nicholas Kovacs, Dylan and Alyssa Weidman, Olivia Morris, and Danny and Abel Jones.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
