Irma E. (Murphy) McClelland

Irma E. Murphy McClelland, 93, of Barnesville OH, passed away on Monday (December 26, 2016) at Emerald Pointe Health and Rehabilitation, Barnesville.

She was born March 19, 1923 in Hendrysburg OH, daughter of the late LeRoy and Eva (McWilliams) Murphy.

Irma had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Paul Modie’s medical office for many years.  She also had been a clerk at Sears Catalog Store.

Irma was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McClelland in 1992; her brothers, Stanley Murphy and Curtis Murphy; a son, Bradley McClelland; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Spangenburg and Jocelyn Bostic.

She is survived by her sons, Brian (Cathi) McClelland of Barnesville OH and Casey (Terri) McClelland of Hickory NC; a daughter-in-law, Janice McClelland of Barnesville OH; seven granddaughters, Aimee (Mark) Spangenburg, Amanda Sobutka, Katherine (Greg) Detling, Samantha (Adam) Messenger all of Barnesville OH, Abby McClelland of Wexford PA, Holly McClelland and Lacy McClelland both of Hickory NC; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday (December 30, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home (319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville OH), where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Sam Monte officiating.

Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Hendrysburg OH.
