Helen Marie (Lykins) Bunfill

Helen M. Bunfill, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Barnesville Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on February 1, 1940 in Dille, WV to the late Leo D. and Opal Marie (Brown) Lykins.

Helen was a 1957 graduate of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, WV and later graduated from Marshall University with a degree in teaching. She taught Home Economics for four years at St. Clairsville High School and retired from Barnesville High School after 30 years dedicated to the students. She was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church and Big Union Baptist Church in Dille, WV. She was a 40 year 4H advisor for the Country Sunshiners, which she founded with her husband, Larry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott Stephens.

Helen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Eugene Bunfill, whom she married on August 4, 1962; three daughters, Elizabeth Stephens of Belmont, Sondra (Lee) Gossett of Quaker City, and Ann (Brad) Hudson of Barnesville; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Gossett, Douglas Stephens, Lauren (Noah) Koch, and Justin Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Gossett and Jolie Koch; and siblings, June Acree of Proctor, WV and Harold "Doc" (Jan) Lykins of Greensboro, GA.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastor Andrew Thompson and Rev. Theresa Bobot officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
