The start of Bunnie’s long and illustrious career at BHS coincided with my arrival on the high school scene. Although I did not have her as a teacher, I remember her as a warm and loving soul who gave students much more than instruction. By her example, she taught generations of Shamrocks how to a live a meaningful life.

In recent years our paths would cross at Somerton Park each July when the Ackerman and Bunfill family reunions coincided. She always made it a point always to shout out and to share happy memories of her life and family.

My wish for family is may you be filled with love and the precious memories of this remarkable soul – your beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

So sad to hear of Helen's passing. I've known Helen for years. First met Helen helping Larry put up hay when I was a teenager. Then had Miss Bunny teaching my Bachelor Living class in high school ( man, she made that class fun!!) I last saw her a couple years ago walking into Walmart at the mall and she hollered at me. I thought who in the hell is calling my name and there was Helen!! Strange how things work out, now I live a few miles from her childhood home of Dille WV. It is a small world after all!!
