Gladys G. Kemp, 93, of Barnesville passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Astoria Place of Barnesville. Gladys was born on April 27, 1924 in New Geneva, Pennsylvania to the late Grover C. and Nora Lee (Garrison) Cagey.
Gladys was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Barnesville. She was retired from the Board of Education in Brooke County, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her siblings: June Rosell, Norman Kemp, Donald Kemp and Kendall Kemp; and her former husband whom she had five children with, Robert Dewey Kemp. They married on September 1, 1943.
Gladys is survived by three sons: Brian L. (Tina) Kemp of Chicago, Illinois, Don R. (Cindy) Kemp of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania and Jesse L. (Cathy) Kemp of East Bernard, Texas; two daughters: Roe (Rusty) Jewell of Wheeling, West Virginia and Lisa J. (Aaron) Gaston of Conway, South Carolina; sister, Carol Huntsman of Barnesville; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and good friends.
According to Gladys's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Gladys will be buried in Southern Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
