Charles Frederick Wheeler, III, 74, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Ohio State Medical Center. Charles was born on May 26, 1943 in Cadiz, Ohio to the late Rev. Charles F. and Rose (Christian) Wheeler, Jr.
Charles was a member of the AME church and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a retired heavy equipment operator who had worked at Consol, R&F, and Oxford mining.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Virginia (Ellis) Wheeler; two children: Lori Ann Pisula of Columbus and Frederick Lee (Nicole) Wheeler of Barnesville; two grandchildren: Coty Michael Pisula and Ellis Edelle Wheeler; a great-grandchild on the way; seven siblings: Annette (Robert) Cansler, Vernon (Diane) Wheeler, Carol Conway, Mike Wheeler, Steve (Paula) Wheeler, Gerald (Gloria) Wheeler and Terrie (Paul) Fitzhugh; two aunts: Francis West and Jean Bigsby; uncle, Jack Smith; and large extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 1pm with Rev. Mark Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted at Holly Memorial Gardens.
