Carol Ann Detling

Carol Ann Detling, 77, of Somerton, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home. She was born on November 8, 1939 in Belmont County to the late Ira and Meribah Jane (Gates) Britton.

Carol was a 1957 graduate of Beallsville High School and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Somerton where she played the piano for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Larry J "Bo" Detling; brothers, Charles, Dwayne and Gary Britton; and sisters, Irene Kamilovich and Linda Stanovich.

Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Detling whom she married on July 2, 1957; daughters, Debbie (Michael) Gates of Barnesville, Dana (Dennis) Welch of Barnesville, Dyann (Richard) Kinney of Barnesville, and Crystal (Bill) Scatterday of Logandale, Nevada; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Sam Britton of Beallsville, Ella Mae Gulley of Key, and Judy Calloway of Newport News, Virginia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 1 PM until the time of the Eastern Star Service at 4 PM at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, Stumptown Road, Barnesville, Ohio. The memorial service will follow with Rev. Tom Detling, Pastor Richard Cox, and Rusty Atkinson officiating. Burial will take place at Somerton Southern Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
