Atha Loverna Powell, 87, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab. She was born on October 5, 1927 in Yorkville, Ohio to the late George F. and Dessie (Hashman) Lucas.
Loverna is a baptized christian of the Lord's church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Jahu Marvin Powell on January 19, 2004; and sisters - Patsy Carpenter and Kathleen Betts.
She is survived by her son - Tim (Susie) Powell of Barnesville; 3 grandsons - Matt (Penny) Powell and their children, Sarah and Luke of Belmont, Jeremy (Heather) Powell and their children, Kason and Caleb of Barnesville, and Corey (Nikki) Powell and their children, Brady and Kylee of Barnesville; brother - James Scott Lucas of Baileys Mills; and sister-in-laws - Betty Gray and Mary Peters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11am with Rick Lallathin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Temperanceville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loverna's memory to the Hospice of Guernsey, 9711 East Pike Road, Cambridge, Ohio.
